As the New Patient Coordinator, Joann Florentino is committed to helping women with cancer begin their journey with WCC. She is often the first person who patients meet on their cancer care journey—Joann acts as the liaison between new patients and the rest of the care team, bringing the patient smoothly into the fold and helping them navigate the more complicated aspects of their care, like insurance authorizations. More importantly, Joann is committed to building relationships with each new patient so that their first experience with an oncologist is positive. She makes sure they know she is there for them and they can always call her, even when they are no longer considered a “new” patient. Her optimism and gentle spirit make patients feel more comfortable during what could be a very challenging experience.
When she’s not at work, Joann loves spending time with her family, and specifically, her grandchildren.
